Review of Mean Streets (1973) by Shane S — 22 Jul 2010
July 2010 - More than anything this reminded me of Amarcord and I felt like this was an Amarcord about Little Italy of NYC. As in almost all of Scorsese's movies, the characters are attractive, believable and very well played.
Locations and the scenes are as good as it gets. It is hard to make something like this without a straightforward storyline. Scorsese does a good job but I am sure after some time you won't remember anything of the story but will be left with a persistent impression of the atmosphere and scenes.
