Review of Mean Streets (1973) by Sujit O — 17 May 2014
Scorsese's starting off point. The gangster world portrayal of Scorsese starts from a much more smaller fashion showing a more intimate study of the central characters. The movie rarely goes off track although the different style of scripting often makes it feel so.
The characters are very interesting and the action sequences are well timed and free flowing. Its a great start up movie for Scorsese to move into a bigger larger picture as shown in Goodfellas and so on.
