Review of Mean Streets (1973) by Brandon S — 28 Dec 2012
I definitely picked up French new wave vibes throughout, setting it stylistically apart from most of the other Scorsese works I've been able to see. In terms of male-centered crises and conflict this is very much in the tone of what Scorsese would continue to examine up until today.
Kietel and De Niro lead a phenomenal cast and as usual in a Scorsese film, the music's great.
