Man works for his Mob Uncle collecting debts, tries to keep everything & everyone under control, has problems.

Dark & gritty Seventies gangster romp which was the start of Martin Scorsese's trademark.

Lots of larger than life characters, fast dialogue & all round Italian-American japery.

Does come across quite dated at times but Robert De Niro & especially Harvey Keitel are excellent. I also love the scene where Keitel is drunk & is filmed from the front with camera "strapped" on him. Been done loads now but this was 1973!

Great soundtrack too.
