I never saw much in this movie, turned off by its poster and title right away, but only recently did I realize it has a massive cult following, and I had no idea why. I still don't after watching this, because there's nothing special. I mean, people seem to love this. It's not awful....but it's bad.

New student Cady Heron is going into her first year of public school after years of homeschooling and is attracted by other students to sabotage a group of popular skanky girls known as "the plastics", compiling of idiot Karen, another idiot Gretchen, and the antagonist Regina George, who makes up for her evil deeds with style and money. In order to destroy Regina, Cady poses as a plastic member, which eventually comes true. The rest is pretty predictable. I've seen this premise too many times before.

I want to say once again that this film definitely doesn't deserve the hype it gets, most of the lines are barely funny, some here and there are alright, but nothing special. People also seem to like the writing by Tina Fey, which kinda explains itself, she did as well as she could with a overused to the core premise. Mean Girls is like every other chick flick film, I've seen better high school based films from the 90s, a lot cheesier and with a smaller budget, better than this. I think one of the few upsides is that the character of Regina George was probably fun to play with for McAdams - she's stereotypical, but completely oblivious and really to the core evil. That's about it. Skip this.
