Review of Mean Creek (2004) by Jonathan S — 08 Apr 2012
Rory Caulkin younger brother of McCaully leads the cast of this dark dramatic movie. He is singled out by a mentally challenged kid in his class that has been held back a few years due to his disorder.
Rory's older brother decides that they need to make a plan to get him back. So the odd group of friends devise a plan to go on a boating trip and play a prank on the kid. When the prank goes drastically wrong the kids find themselves with some difficult decisions.
The movie has a Stand By Me feel to it. Powerful movie that shows us how something so trivial can go dramatically wrong.
