"Me, Myself & Irene" is a very strange absurd comedy starring Jim Carrey in which a "normal" guy is in love and gets married only to encounter a very sensitive chauffeur on his honeymoon.

The chauffeur "plays the race card" upon a very innocent remark by Carrey's character (a highway patrolman) and when the wife intervenes, the scene is set for an affair when she 'finds out that the chauffeur is a member of Mensa, just as she is.

The officer is very naive and only becomes slightly suspicious of his wife when she's given birth to three boys who are the same culture as the chauffeur. He loves them just the same and a funny contrast is shown in.

The relationship between the father and sons when the mother abandons them and goes off with the chauffeur.

The officer finally snaps from all the disrespect of others and he starts to abuse people rather than being abused by them. A shocking scene of him plunging a mouthy young girl into a pond over and over gives way to him sucking the breasts of a breast feeding mom. It turns out that he has or has developed at least one "extra personality" possibly two.

The person we initially get to know is a respectful person who allows people to take advantage of him. The second personality is more bold, courageous and offensive and of course goes by a different name.

A woman brought to the station for questioning (Irene) is placed in Carrey's custody and the film follows their adventures as they run afoul of corrupt police and her former employer who is corrupt or even a criminal. Some of the scenes are cringe-inducing such as when Renee's character trips and Carrey catches her - his hands on her breasts!

Renee and Jim have some "chemistry" even with the personality changes that he endures. 10 out of 10! This film is much better than the extra features would suggest (I looked at them first).
