Charlie is a Rhode island state trooper who is married. It is soon that he finds out she cheats on him with a small African American limo driver. He becomes a father of three children that are the biological sons of the limo driver.
He has sole custody of them. This family may not seem like the typical family, and it hints at this through comedy, but they are all very close. Charlie suffers from multiple personality disorder and is assigned to transport Irene to New York.
She was arrested for a hit and run that she says she did not commit. While on the trip to transport this prisoner, he starts to fall in love with Irene. But, so does Hank. Hank is his other personality, who also falls in love with Irene.
Hank started to show up when Charlie and Irene had to leave behind Charlie's medicine when they were being chased. Hank is the complete opposite of Charlie's personality. They are trying to be killed by the men who set up Irene.
After his sons help solve the problem, Charlie ends up marrying Irene. This was one of my favorite movies to watch. The comedy was great and it also showed how families are different in every situation.
It is not usual in society for the father to be the custodial parent.
