Review of Me, Myself & Irene (2000) by Connor F — 11 Aug 2013
Although Jim Carrey seems to be able to pull off dual personalities in his sleep, the rest of the movie is generally hit and miss. Some of the comedy can be quite clever, while some can be just plain gross and obviously from the people behind Dumb and Dumber.
Zellweger has strong chemistry with both personalities, which manages to save most scenes otherwise tired and misfiring. The story is completely absurd, but Charlie, his black sons, Irene and all the rest are still characters you can cheer for and stay memorable.
Me, Myself and Irene is ridiculous fun, but not without some of comedy sins and face-palm moments.
