Review of Me Before You (2016) by Jennifer M — 05 Jul 2016
One of the most striking aspects to this film is that Emilia Clarke who plays Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones and Louisa in this, overworks her generous eyebrows so much it's hard to concentrate on the story! I can't imagine that the director told her to do it but they sure should have told her to tone it down, very annoying.
That said I did enjoy the film overall. I suppose if I'm honest the male eye candy, Sam Claflin, certainly helped as did the Pembroke setting which is breathtakingly beautiful.
Let's not fib, this is an unashamed tear jerker and succeeded 100% with me, I was blubbing everywhere. I don't judge a sad film based on whether it makes me cry or not but I was entertained and it did make me think about the ultimate subject matter which I won't mention as the trailers practically tell the story of the entire movie and the bit I won't mention is the only surprise, if that's the right word, left to you if you ever see it.
