Review of Me Before You (2016) by Dann M — 11 Feb 2018
Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin star in the touching romantic drama Me Before You. Desperate for a job Lou Clark takes a position as a caretaker for a rich family's paraplegic son, and when she learns that he has made plans to commit physician assisted suicide she becomes despite to find a way to make him enjoy life again.
Clarke and Claflin both give very strong performance and have good chemistry together. And the script is especially well-written; exploring physician assisted suicide without making judgments or coming off as heavy handed.
Thea Sharrock's directing style is also rather impressive, as is the soundtrack and score (which compliments the tone remarkably well). A little unconventional, Me Before You is a thought-provoking drama that addresses some interesting issues.
