"Me Before You" is a romantic comedy that goes for a more serious vibe, but ends up being a lot less heavy than it aims. Throughout the movie, you have the main character, Louisa Clark (Emilia Clarke), as an extreme hyperbole of a happy-go-lucky, always see the light in things type of person, clash with William Traynor (Sam Claflin), a very dark, low profile person.

Although it sounds like they can even each other out, making a good match, it just seems really awkward, and a lot of times you can see that the chemistry between the two just isn't there. It tries to take a page out of the "The Fault In Our Stars" book, as it uses tragedy and deadly illnesses to try and get you to be more involved in the characters.

While that worked in "The Fault In Our Stars", it didn't work at all in "Me Before You". There is nothing wrong with adding some light to a dark subject, but it almost seemed like this movie had no idea what it wanted to be; a rom-com or a full on romantic drama.

It had bits and pieces of both, and that just didn't fit into the movie. For the audience it tries to go for, and if you are crazy about romantic-dramas/romantic-comedies, "Me Before You" might be watchable, but if you don't, then this movie is not worth watching.
