Review of Me and You and Everyone We Know (2005) by Alejandra G — 14 Sep 2008
"I want to poop. Back and forth. From my buthole to your butthole. With the same poop. Forever." This is a wonderful film that a lot of people apparently can't see the wonder in. It is definitely very slow, and simple, but that's because it moves at the same pace as REALITY.
All the characters are extremely realistic and they are pulled off with excellence. I think a lot of people take the movie a little too seriously and don't notice all the clever, subtle humor throughout the film.
Of course, the highlight of the film is in the little black boy's cute dialogue and performance, and rightfully so. He deserves all that attention. But, there is a lot more that is great about this movie! It's like a Todd Solondz movie blended with the less explicit but still extremely dry Ghost World.
I recommend it to anyone who enjoys ANY form of ART! Duh!
