Review of Me and Orson Welles (2008) by Clayton S — 14 Dec 2009
This was actually pretty good given the expectations. It is light beyond imagination and Zac Efron looks like he was pulled from A&F billboard. Interstingly however the story is amusing and the staging of Cesar actually looked quite intersting.
I don't know why most movies about larger than life figures (Wells in this case) have to be so loud and annoying. Far from driving interest and making the characters colorful and smart they end up reducing them to clowns with mild retardation.
As the studio probably expects, this movie will be watched by 6 people, including some folks from the production company. This doesn't mean the film is a failure since it's still intersting and proves that not everything has to be Avatar or 2012. Sadly for this valiant effort, it's not that great and there are probably 200 better things to do other than sit through this for 107 minutes.
