Review of Me and Orson Welles (2008) by Vicki B — 30 Dec 2009
Christian McKay's sounds a little more Frasier Crane than Orson Welles, and Zak Efron is an asexual dud stunt-casted out of place. Still, it's a fascinating reminder of a time when radio personalities had large talent to go with their large egos.
Glenn Beck could learn a lot. There are some standout moments and Claire Danes lights up the screen whenever she enters. Richard Linklater doesn't seem know if it's a period throwback to classic Hollywood, or the type of character piece he's known for.
I'm pretty sure there wasn't a point in the 1937 where an actress asked if her ass looked big in her dress. Where's Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy when you need them?
