Considering what a fascinating force of nature Orson Welles was, its disappointing that this film is such a dull little trifle. The fault certainly doesn't lie in Christian McKay's portrayal of the icon.
He looks, sounds and acts so much like Welles its uncanny. The story itself, which spans but a few days in Welles' early theatre career, prior to his foray into films, is a mere footnote in a chapter of his extraordinary life.
You get to glimpse the way he treats people and how he reveres himself, but too much of the story is about the cypher (the 'me' in the title). Production design is good, but the pace and direction doesn't sing the way it should.
