Review of Me and Orson Welles (2008) by That Guy W — 14 Sep 2010
***1/2 (out of four).
The excitement of the theatre and opening night is at the center of this witty and fresh tale based on the novel of the same name.
Richard (Zac Efron) is a high school student in 1937. He sneaks away to Manhattan and gets a job working for Orson Welles in a new production of "Julius Caesar". He butts heads with the great actor/director when he falls for a woman who Welles also sees.
Efron is very likeable in the lead and Calire Danes is in fine form, but Christian McKay steals the show with his performance of Welles.
