Review of Me and Orson Welles (2008) by Evan D — 17 Sep 2010
I love period pieces and this one was magnificent! Set in New York City during the 1930s, following the story of seventeen-year-old Richard who aspires to be an actor and has the fortune to be cast in a play by the biggest name in the business, Orson Welles.
But Mr. Welles is a man that will not stand for being wrong and Richard has the misfortune of clashing with Orson over the beautiful assistant, Sonja. This was truly a remarkable film about the theatre and really captured the essence of classic show business; everything from attire, to performance, to sets, to music -- it was all just brilliant! The films is lead by a remarkable cast -- Zac Efron delievers his greatest performance as Richard, truly showing his acting abilities; Claire Danes is stunning as Sonja with just the perfect edge to her to love but also dislike; and Christian McKay is extraordinary as Orson Welles.
. just a remarkable performance that really makes you feel like he Orson.
