Review of Me and Orson Welles (2008) by Danny S — 11 Dec 2010
Sarah picked this one out after seeing a preview. As soon as the movie started, I was lost and most importantly I wasn't impressed. I almost turned it off. But as we kept watching, the movie got better, and at the end became sort of this charming little movie.
If you are a theatre geek, then I think you will love this, as the movie traces back to the early days of Orson Welles and his production of Julius Caesar at the Mercury Theatre. The other story centers on Zac Efron's character, a high school student that lands a part in the play after being noticed by Welles.
Efron's character learns about life and love along the way as he prepares for the biggest night of his life. I found Efron to be good in the movie, he did a solid job, but the guy that played Orson Welles really stole this movie, as I thought he was really good.
