While it's stylistically all over the place, everything is still motivated. Alfonso Gomez-Rejon has made a movie that's kind of an homage to movies and the love of filmmaking. While tying in a cliche dying girl storyline, the other characters work and it's really fun from beginning to end with laughs and some really painfully dramatic moments.
