Review of Me and Earl and the Dying Girl (2015) by Calvin C — 03 Nov 2015
A teen comedy/drama that deals with all sorts of teenage things like high school, college, social standings, friends, parents, and teachers. It also tackles someone with cancer and while the film has all the cliches of a coming of age film, it deals with all its issues, including cancer in an honest way. The three young leads are all great and have good chemistry and the whimsical parts help lighten the mood. With all its wit and humor, the movie hits you hard at the end and that is what makes the film a cut above most movies about the life of a teenager.
