Coming of age movies to me are very hit and miss, some capture the struggle and joy of growing up, while others feel tedious, cheesy and overly staged. Every now and then however movies such as American Graffiti and Boyhood sweep me off my feet.
Me and Earl and the Dying Girl is one of those movies. Scene to scene this movie finds a way to make every second worthwhile and to a spot on extent meaningful, such a moving and generally enjoyable movie.
