Entering the world of Me and Earl and the Dying Girl is like looking back at old photos and messages. You know you're going to cry. You know you're going to get your heart broken. But you still do it anyway. Because there's some part of it that just feels so GOOD. It's like those tears are rewarding, in a way.
The best part is you don't even realize you're caring for these characters. It's by the end when the tears are streaming down your face and you go, "Oh boy, why do I feel so much for her?" Plain storytelling magic right there.
