Review of Me and Earl and the Dying Girl (2015) by Bradley J — 07 Jul 2015
I wanted to love this one, but there the overwhelming quirk manages to ruin a lot of the moments that have sincere potential. Also, the story revolves so much around the rather irritating lead, that there is little time to care about the fate of the Dying Girl.
Thus some of the impact is squandered. The film starts hilariously and ends on a strong note with a wrenching film/hospital scene. Overall, it is too much quirk and too little emotion. Rating: 64.
