Review of McQueen (2018) by Benwomack — 21 Mar 2020
The documentary is helpfully made in chapters. A ‘Let us now praise famous men, And the fathers that begat us’ effort? concerning.
Mr. Lee Alexander McQueen, who made clothes and died at his own hand.
A) He made clothes. He was quite stroppy (opinion alert.)- he didn't actually make clothes people could wear, always. BUT.
B) He died at his own hand. Hidden in plain sight. It's manifestly obvious, as his shows progress, that something is up... (he's miserable). The whole thing, shouldn't be there, if you like. But A question anyway is, how to broach the subject.
Against an accusation, why dwell on suicide? It is unhealthy... You could almost have no sterner consternation, than in watching the effect such an action has on a circle of family and friends. And more importantly, hearing its tread. How it works.
There was love in it, floating around somewhere.
Thank you.
Does it use beautiful people to get your attention? No. The catwalk show would, but this is more about being honest.
