Wayne was offered the role of DIRTY HARRY (1971) but turned it down. Later on, Wayne starred in this contemporary police action movie that can be described as a "Dirty Harry Wannabe." Wayne was getting a bit old to be playing these characters but he plays a maverick cop who resigns from the force, turns in his badge and snubbie, and then roars around pre-Microsoft/Grunge Seattle with an illegally acquired Ingram M10 submachinegun filling bad guys up with lead and taking the law into his own hands.
