Review of McFarland, USA (2015) by Steven B — 24 Feb 2015
A big showing from the Old Geezers Who Go To The Matinee Alone for this one. It is a heartfelt sort of slice-of-life kinda thing, and pretty predictable along the way, but still a good movie. I'm not much of a Kevin Costner fan (although he was terrific in 'The Big Chill' [you will have to look it up]) but he is very good here.
This is a true story about the High School Cross Country team from one of the poorest communities in the country. The rest of the cast does an admirable job here. All in all a pleasant movie and one I'd recommend.
