Kevin Costner is no stranger to Coach/mentor roles (seen in The Guardian) or to sports films, but what works for this old school sports drama is it's incredible true story (better than Disney's own recent Million Dollar Arm) and a cast of good talented actors led by Kevin Costner in a rather relaxed role. The Mexican culture imbibed in the locales of the film and its indigenous characters makes it more heart warming. The direction is also good here.
