Yes it pulled out lots of movie cliches and laid the schmaltz on pretty thick but it was much better than a lot of the garbage out there . Costner redeems himself from last year's crappy Draft Day with a nuanced performance (based on a true story) as a X-country track coach in the Central Valley of CA where the whole town seems like the wrong side of the tracks.
Nice to see Hispanics/Mexicans portrayed in a positive manner. It was uplifting. (2-22-15).
