Review of McCabe & Mrs. Miller (1971) by Caitlin C — 26 Jun 2007
Distinct cinematography and a soundtrack by the timeless Leonard Cohen set this film apart from the typical Western. Warren Beatty and Julie Christie both give unique performances. While a few of the early scenes failed to grab me (in part because of garbled sound) the second half kicks it up a notch.
Poetic and gorgeously shot--definitely worth viewing.
