Review of McCabe & Mrs. Miller (1971) by Noah R — 20 Apr 2008
This is a movie that I will surely have to watch again. I found it boring the first time I watched it, but was absolutely compelled by the photography, and even the dynamic between McCabe and Mrs. Miller.
They are a great couple. I have to admit that the story wasn't too good, and even Altman admitted that on his commentary--he said that story isn't important to him as a filmmaker, but looks and feels are.
That makes sense since he doesn't write his own stuff, but I can't help believing that it tests my interest and patience.
