I don't like the term anti-western or revisionist western. This is just a great western. Its a tragic tale in an unforgiving setting with a bleak but beautiful ending. If you loved Pat Garret and Billy the Kid as I did, you'll love this.
Not a big fan of Warren Beatty but he's brilliant in this and the Leonard Cohen sound track complements perfectly the tone of the movie.
