El Topo may be the most surreal; The Searchers the best; Johnny Guitar the oddest - but McCabe and Mrs. Miller is perhaps the most "real" feeling western ever made. The characters live and breathe in this grand Altman film.
Warren Beatty and Julie Christie create incredibly memorable performances. The Leonard Cohen music is perfectly fitting.
