Review of Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015) by Bradysmith — 15 Feb 2016
This is a well made movie that's well above most YA films, and it starts out extremely well, but at a certain point a decent amount of time in, the story begins to grow tedious. The action scenes are very exciting, and the young actors, especially the lead, give very good performances, but the plot turns generic and loses its sense of mystery.
The first movie also deflated in this way but not until the very end. It kept its sense of originality most of the way through. So what we're left with is a passable movie that's not as good as its predecessor.
Worth seeing at least once, but hopefully the next one will be better.
