Review of Maze Runner: The Death Cure (2018) by Ben Z — 25 Jan 2018
The score on here, as well as other sites sourced from mostly "critic" reviews (which are very misaligned with majority opinion nowadays), are very misleading. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie; it's sci-fi, but it's also an action movie worth watching.
As someone who've seen the first two, I think it was excellently executed. There's a reason why this movie currently has a 96% on Google (users who've liked this movie), which I'd argue is much more "public opinion.
" Not trying to spoil anything, but I really enjoyed the facts that it saddened me because someone who did not deserve to die did and appeased me because someone who did deserve to die also did. This movie holds no punches and really picks up speed half-way to launch an all-out war action sequence that was beautifully crafted.
The actors did amazing jobs. Lastly, to put into perspective, one of my friends who never saw the first two said this: "I started getting bored halfway in because I didn't know who the characters were and what was happening, but that last chunk had my full attention.
I was leaning forward in my seat, and I usually don't do that unless I'm enjoying the movie.".
