Most of Max Payne is a jumbled and uninspiring build up to its brilliantly violent conclusion. For fans of the comic hero, it provides a unique and ultimately highly rewarding portrayal of an unstoppable vigilante.
For anyone else, the final ten minutes of blood and thunder will hardly make up for movie's overall dragging and indifferent nature.
