Review of Max Manus: Man of War (2008) by Wahyu Y — 27 Feb 2010
I was impressed by this movie - it educated me as well as entertained me. I had never really given any thought to what the Norwegians got up to during WWII and now I know. The acting was convincing and the story was engrossing.
As a war movie it had a very diffierent feel to most but still had enough action as well as suspense to keep that title. The sub-titling had multiple gaffs and they were often taken off screen as soon as the actor finished speaking the line, which wasn't quite long enough in many cases, but that didn't take me out of the story any more than subtitles usually do.
