Wow! How is the word just getting out on this one. The self-styled "pro" critics? Jaded, eyes pinwheels from watching too many movies. This is Spielberg in his early days. Only E.T. is missing here.
And Spielberg was dismissed as a gifted lightweight at first, too. A lot of things going-on in this yarn, all knitted together nicely with some excellent Carolina cinematography. Bravo! A good dog movie, teen movie, love interest movie, strained family movie, a military actioner with bad guys lurking much too close to home .
.. Josh Wiggins has got a career coming online, and at an early age. If Hillary Swank had a kid, it'd be Josh, acting chops, and all. Really a nice surprise of an image capture (movie)! Even T. H. Church looks (and acts) good in this one.
