Review of Max (2002) by Dan W — 14 Sep 2007
It does everything it can with an idea that presents what I thought were limited possibilities. I think it's silly that Flixster's synopsis calls it a "complex." The tagline on the poster--"Art + Politics = Power"--is basically all you need to know about what "Max" says.
But if nothing else, Noah Taylor's performance is excellent, and the film succeeds in humanizing Hitler without sympathizing with Hitler, as "Downfall" did.
