Review of Max (2000) by Hannah M — 28 Dec 2004
Tis the season to be giving. Thus if I had a life, I would be giving something other than reviews of movies. Okay, so maybe I do have a life, but not much.
Normally I don't watch 'indie' films because they usually suck. .

I was cornered into watching this one, and I must say, it was better than a stick in the eye. The potrayal by Noah Taylor was the only stand out and I could care less for any of the other characters. They were bland and purposely flawed. I doubt the historic accuracies of the film, but it made an intriguing story. Several editing errors removed my total involvement in the movie. The ending is rather disturbing. A rental for the history buff or artist..

First off, I didn't know it rained so much in Spain. To say this movie is boring is an understatement. After about fifteen minutes into it, all I could think about was seeing Anna Paquin naked, which usually doesn't occur in a movie. That is of course if it is a porno but by that time, they should already be naked. This after watching the entire extended edition of Lord of the Rings! You will only care for the little boy. No scares what so ever and the story just doesn't make sense. It also has the worse movie ending since Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban..
