Review of Max (2000) by Patrick F — 27 Jul 2008
Germany, 1919: Jewish War Veteran Max Rothman opens an art gallery which leads to a meeting and psuedo-friendship with a down and out soldier and would-be-artist named Adolph Hitler. Rothman attempts to mentor and channel Hitler's energies into his art, but Hitler is becoming increasingly drawn to politics.
... Great film that asks what might of been well givin us a portrait of Hitler in the period before he began his rise to power. John Cuack as Rothman and Noah Taylor as Hitler are brilliant.
