Review of Maverick (2015) by John B — 20 May 2012
A very funny and charming Western movie staring Mel Gibson, Jodie Foster and James Garner. This movie is about a guy named Bret Maverick who's a gambler that needs an additional three thousand dollars to enter a winner take all poker game that begins very soon.
To get the money he tries to gamble, collect debts and recover rewards. He also joins forces with a woman gambler who's trying to enter the poker game as well and he also meets up with a lawman who's hosting the poker game.
This movie Maverick is based off an old TV show back in the 50's and since I have never watched the show before I can't really compare the movie to it, but I all I got to say is this movie is pretty damn enjoyable.
I think director Richard Donner did a fabulous job making this movie, I also think Mel Gibson played a great role in this movie, he was very funny and very entertaining to watch. I don't think this movie Maverick is the best western movie, but if you are a western fan you will defiantly have fun watching this movie.
