Review of Maurice (1987) by Ulises G — 28 Jan 2008
The movie ranks among the best ones by James Ivory (you have still the delicious mix of images and music...The plot is well developed and the two main actors -the gay ones-are extraordinary. A love story much better than "Brokeback Mountain".
It is very respectful of E.M Forster intentions of writing a happy ending gay- love story albeit his own reticence to openly discuss his homosexuality (the novel was written before WWI, however it was published many decades later, only after Forster's death.
).
