Review of Maurice (1987) by Ryan T — 17 Oct 2008
Truly an amazing and timeless story truly timely for current California and worldwide events. Very sad to think that at one time in England, a person could be imprisoned if their sexual preference did not match with the then current morés codified in the law of that era.
This interpretation of E.M. Forster's story truly brings home how difficult it is to find yourself and be yourself, no matter how impossible the circumstances. Truly amazing performances by James Wilby, Hugh Grant, and Rupert Graves (damnit, why can't they be that young anymore? LOL).
