If you can overlook its minor flaws and its slow pace then you can really start to enjoy it as it was meant to be. By far the big selling point of this movie is Sally Hawkins tremendous portrayal as Maud Lewis.
It is a hidden true story that thankfully the director decided to shed some light on.
