Review of Maudie (2016) by Robert C — 20 Jul 2017
A beautifully filmed and acted movie about the triumph of the human spirit over disability and hard circumstances. Sally Hawkins won't allow you to feel sorry for her character, she is indomitable and brilliant. The locales and cinematography are superb. I would hope this gets some Oscar consideration.
It is a rosier than real portrayal of the Canadian folk artist and her relationship with her husband , but that doesn't change the fact that it is a great movie.
