Review of Matchstick Men (2003) by Linda W — 10 Sep 2012
A well-acted and well-written crime caper, Matchstick Men is one of a few enjoyable films by Ridley Scott and proves that Nicolas Cage really can act. While the hallmarks of Paper Moon may be all to see, this film is still crafted with enough energy, humor, wit and intelligence to oversee its stance as the sort of film that unlike most con artist narrative-driven films that never feels confusing and is a film that deserves multiple viewings for its two hours of really good cinema.
