Review of Match Point (2005) by Declan B — 24 Feb 2011
Difficult to watch as the story was in no way nice. It wasn't a great premise for a film. I kind of like to escape or be moved when watching films myself, but this film just shows you the real world and how horrible people can be.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers was not good either, he kind of reminded me of creepy old Commodus from Gladiator (although Joaquin Phoenix was actually good), but we, the audience, were supposed to relate to him and think of him as an ordinary guy.
Not worth another watch by any means.
