Review of Match Point (2005) by Gavin P — 25 Aug 2017
Certainly not a typical Woody Allen film - no twitchy lead, no musings on life & love, no real laughs - but still a love triangle, this time between Chris (Rhys Meyers), Chloe (Mortimer) & Nola (Johansson).
It moves along nicely, but has an annoying amount of opera in it (Allen trying to show that Chris is rolling in England's upper crust). While not funny, the ending is darkly ironic, but was also totally illogical to me.
An interesting film, but not exceptional.
