Review of Match Point (2005) by Josh O — 04 Jan 2012
Woody Allen's best film i've seen so far and mainly because it doesn't seem like a Woody Allen film. With sharp performances from the whole cast especially Jonathan Rhys Meyers who takes a dramatically powerhouse turn near the end and brings the movie to a climax; it was just so unexpectedly brilliant.
I really hope Woody Allen does another thriller because this one was rather chilling even with only one scene of violence which is all off screen and implied rather than shown. but it's the relational tension that really brings the chills, Brilliant and very recommendable.
